- After two periods as president of AmCham, Bruce Masters has announced his resignation.
Guatemala, august 26 2016.- The American Chamber of Commerce, AmCham has announced today the official renunciation of Mister Bruce Masters as President of the board. The decision of Mister Masters to leave the position obeys to health reasons and the need to attend to personal business activities that prevent him to fully comply with the obligations and commitments involving the presidency of AmCham.
“We understand the reasons for Mister Masters retirement from the board, since it is a position of great responsibility and commitment. We appreciate the time he has lead the Chamber and wish him success in his personal projects. We hope he can continue to work with AmCham when his schedule allows it.” explained Juan Pablo Carrasco, Vicepresident of AmCham Guatemala, who will take over as president after the retirement of Bruce Masters becomes effective.
Carrasco has a history of 18 years as a member of AmCham and 11 years as a member of the board. “We are aware that it is a challenge and a great responsibility to lead this Chamber that has more than 500 members, and it is them who encourage us to continue our efforts to promote economic development in Guatemala, through trade with the United States which generates investment in Guatemala and, consequently, more jobs” said Carrasco.
The American Chamber of Commerce AmCham was born in 1967 as a result of the promotion and strengthening of trade and investment between the United States and Guatemala. It represents more than 500 national and international partners in Guatemala.
